Jesse was born in Montréal in 1972, in a hospital that no longer exists. After spending his formative time in franco-Manitoba and the subsequent years shuttling back and forth between low-cost housing in Montréal and Vancouver, he made Montréal his permanent home. He likes to think that this makes him a dynamic individual. It has definitely informed his writing.
To-day, Jesse is a tech industry burnout who writes poetry and fiction, works as a freelance writer and magazine editor, and plays 5-string electric bass for Montréal- and Calgary-based Celtic pop band, Squidjigger and Late For Dinner, an originals project based in Montréal Ouest. He holds a communications degree from Concordia University and has spent the last decade collecting warm reviews as director with Espress-O Theatre and the 6th Avenue Players theatre company. Most recently, Jesse has just finished a two-year stint as director-in-residence for Altera Vitae Productions.
